Exam Date for BPSC ASO Prelims 2025: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has officially announced the date for the preliminary examination for the Assistant Section Officer (ASO) recruitment. The exam is set to take place on September 10, with various centers established across 11 districts in the state. It will be conducted in a single session from 12:00 PM to 2:15 PM. Recruitment Process Overview

The ASO recruitment will unfold in three stages: the preliminary exam, followed by the main exam, and concluding with an interview and document verification. Candidates who successfully clear the preliminary stage will advance to the mains, and those who pass the mains will be invited for an interview by the commission. This recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 41 Assistant Section Officer positions. All questions will be objective multiple-choice, with each question carrying one mark. The minimum educational requirement for applicants is a graduation degree. Additionally, candidates must be between 21 and 37 years old, with age relaxations applicable for reserved categories as per government regulations. The age will be calculated as of August 1, 2025.


Salary Details for ASO Position

Compensation for Selected Candidates:


The final merit list will be compiled based on the scores from the main examination and the interview. Candidates selected for the ASO role will receive a monthly salary ranging from Rs 44,900 to Rs 1,42,400, classified under the Level-7 pay scale.
