Bihar ASHA Worker Recruitment 2026: The recruitment for ASHA workers is set to commence soon across all districts in Bihar. Reports indicate that the State Health Department has instructed all districts to prepare for this initiative. An official notification regarding the recruitment of ASHA workers is expected to be released shortly, with plans to hire a total of 21,000 workers—14,409 for rural areas and 7,289 for urban settings.


Recruitment of ASHA Facilitators

In addition to ASHA workers, the recruitment will also include 1,104 ASHA Facilitators. This recruitment has been pending for a significant period. Currently, there are 98,598 active ASHA workers in Bihar. The State Health Department has expressed concerns over the slow pace of recruitment and has mandated that all districts complete the hiring process within two months. Candidates who have completed their 10th grade will be eligible to apply, and it is anticipated that applications will be accepted offline.


Urban ASHA Facilitators Designation

ASHA Facilitators will be designated as 'Urban' in areas that have been upgraded to *Nagar Panchayat*, *Nagar Parishad*, or *Nagar Nigam* (Municipal Corporation) status. The Health Department has instructed that existing ASHA Facilitators in rural areas transitioning to urban categories will now be recognized as 'Urban ASHA Facilitators'.
