Selection Process & Online Exam Structure



  • Selection Method: Recruitment will be conducted through an Online Written Test and/or a Personal Interview, based on the number of applications received.


  • Exam Format: The objective test will consist of 125 questions worth a total of 125 marks, to be completed in 120 minutes. Sections include: (i) Professional Knowledge (100 Questions / 100 Marks) and (ii) English Language (25 Questions / 25 Marks).


  • Qualifying Conditions: The English Language section is qualifying only; its marks will not be included in the final merit list. All other tests will be available in both English and Hindi. The minimum passing marks are 35% for General/EWS and 30% for reserved categories.


  • Negative Marking: There will be a penalty of 1/4th of the marks for each incorrect answer. No penalty for unattempted questions.


  • Interview Weightage & Security Deposit: Candidates shortlisted for interviews will be called in a 1:3 ratio based on their Professional Knowledge scores. The weightage for the written test and interview is 70:30. Selected candidates must pay a security deposit (MMGS-II: Rs. 2,00,000/-; MMGS-III & SMGS-IV: Rs. 3,00,000/-), refundable after three years of satisfactory service.


Important Instructions for Online Registration



  • Applications must be submitted online through the official portal bankofindia.bank.in from June 30, 2026, to July 20, 2026. Candidates may apply for only one position.


  • Image Specifications: Scanned passport-sized photos should be 200 x 230 pixels (File Size: 20-50 KB). Signatures must be on white paper in black ink (Dimensions: 140 x 60 pixels, File Size: 10-20 KB) and should not be in capital letters.


  • Thumb & Handwritten Declarations: Left thumb impressions must be on white paper with black or blue ink (File Size: 20-50 KB). The handwritten declaration must be clearly written in English using black ink on white paper (File Size: 50-100 KB) and cannot be in capital letters.


  • Declaration Text: The declaration must read: “I, _______ (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.”


  • Live Photo Capture: Candidates must also complete a live photo capture step using a webcam or mobile device during registration.
