Anuj Agnihotri's Unique Way of Discovering His UPSC Result
Anuj Agnihotri, who achieved the top rank in the Civil Services Examination, received the news of his success in a rather special manner. He revealed that a friend called him to share the good news right after the results were announced. At that moment, he hadn't even checked the PDF of the results himself. When he finally saw his name on the list, disbelief washed over him.
A Moment of Silence Before the Celebration
Instead of immediately celebrating, Anuj remained quiet for a while, taking in the reality of his achievement before checking the results again. His parents were present with him at that moment, and it took them a moment to comprehend the significance of the news.
Hard Work and Luck: A Winning Combination
Anuj attributes his success not only to hard work but also to a bit of luck. He expressed gratitude to God, emphasizing the importance of timing, opportunities, and family support. According to him, while consistent effort is crucial, sometimes luck plays a pivotal role in opening doors.
From Medicine to Civil Services
Anuj completed his MBBS at AIIMS in Jodhpur. Alongside his medical studies, he continued to prepare for the civil services. During his internship, he received significant support from seniors and peers, which allowed him to dedicate time to his studies.
Success After Multiple Attempts
He shared that his first attempt laid a strong foundation, but he did not succeed. The second attempt also ended in disappointment. However, in his third attempt, he finally secured the top rank. Anuj recounted that during his first attempt, he would wake up at 6 AM and study until 11 PM, dedicating around 8 to 9 hours daily to his preparation.
Cherishing Family Time
Throughout his preparation, Anuj valued the time spent with his family at home. He noted that once he starts working, it becomes challenging to spend as much time with his parents, making these moments particularly special.
Achieving Greatness from a Small Town
Hailing from Rawatbhata, a small town near Kota in Rajasthan, Anuj's father works in the nuclear energy sector, while his mother is a homemaker.
Finding Relief in Music and Sports
Whenever stress arose during his studies, Anuj turned to music or engaged in light physical activities. He enjoys sports and is a big fan of cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
