Overview of the CRE 2026 Exam



The Common Recruitment Examination (CRE) 2026 is being held in three shifts on August 31 and September 1. This arrangement is designed to accommodate candidates applying for multiple positions.


Conducting Authority and Recruitment Details

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is overseeing the CRE 2026, which is crucial for filling various Group B and Group C roles across AIIMS and other central government health institutions. Since 2021, AIIMS New Delhi has been managing this exam on behalf of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. This year's recruitment includes positions such as Junior Administrative Assistant, Senior Administrative Assistant, Data Entry Operator, Personal Assistant, Stenographer, Private Secretary, Assistant Security Officer, Receptionist, Junior Medical Records Officer, Junior Warden, Hostel Warden, Telephone Operator, and Social Security Officer.


Technical Issues at Jaipur Centers

The CRE 2026 exam is being conducted in three shifts across August 31 and September 1. The purpose of scheduling multiple shifts is to accommodate candidates who have applied for more than one post. A total of 30,142 candidates registered for this exam. For the first shift on August 31, 21,098 candidates were registered, of whom 16,193 appeared for the exam. While the exam proceeded according to schedule at most centers across the country, it was disrupted by technical issues at two centers located at TCS iON Digital Zone, Sitapura, Jaipur. These centers are designated as RJ0101 and RJ0102. A total of 2,000 candidates were registered across both centers; specifically, 1,342 candidates from RJ0101 and 436 from RJ0102 appeared for the exam.


Power Disruption During the Exam

The examination commenced at 9:00 AM. However, internal power supply issues occurred at both centers, leading to interruptions in the exam process. To protect the candidates' interests and uphold the examination's integrity, AIIMS opted to cancel the exam at these locations.


Rescheduled Examination Date

Candidates who were registered at the two Jaipur centers will now take the exam again on September 7, 2026. New examination centers are being arranged, and depending on the number of candidates, the exam may be conducted either simultaneously or in separate batches.


Investigation into the Incident

AIIMS has requested a comprehensive report from TCS regarding the incident. The company has also been instructed to retain system logs, CCTV footage, and records of control room communications. These materials will be essential for investigating the causes of the disruption. AIIMS has reaffirmed its dedication to transparency, fairness, and ensuring equal opportunities for all candidates throughout the recruitment process.
