There are many Educational Institutes in India that have a history with paranormal activities. Surely, you may have also heard about them when you were studying be it of some other college of of your own. However, there are some colleges where people have been shook up by actually witnessing some out of the world activities that defied laws of Physics! The widespread and continuous reports from students have made people question whether those institutes are haunted?

NIT, Hamirpur
NIT, Hamirpur is not considered a very haunted college but there has been some weird activities. Students believe that Kailash Boys Hostel has a haunted room in Block-C where a student committed suicide. The room was opened to accommodate new students as there was a shortage of room. The haunted fact is that it sometimes shows a bluetooth device that does not pair with anyone named on the BOY WHO DIED! As soon as you step out of the room, the connection is lost!
That is pretty weird. The fun fact is that a major portion of NIT, Hamirpur was build on a funeral ground!
Haunted college of Kerala!
University College, Kerala
However there are strong reports of this college being haunted, there have been no clear reason why? Ghosts have been reported to fly with no feet on the ground! It has a good history as the college was established in 1866 and was able to survive into the new era. It is now a principal location for many haunted stories which are said to be true!

Sinhgad College of Engineering, Pune
The story ofSinhgad College of Engineering, Pune is very interesting. A student had comitted suicide because of depression due to bad grades. There have been numerous reports that students have seen the ghost of that student waking in the campus at night! It has scared students so much that is so real that many of them don’t walk on their own inside the campus when it is real late at night.

IIT, Roorkee
This is a rather recent incident with no legends associated with it. A depressed student committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan in his hostel room. Though there were many reports and debate about the education system, there was a scare among the students that the room was now haunted. No one dares to go near that room!

NIT, Durgapur
It is believed by the students of NIT, Durgapur that e OMR (Old Matron’s room) in Hall 7 is haunted. There has been reports of calling of names of one roommate to the other roommate to open the door when no one is outside! There has been reports of hearing of footsteps in the middle of the night when the corridor is deserted. The real reason has never been found out.

This is the college from where breath taking beauty Preity Zinta graduated from. This college is also famous for one more thing other than its famous alumnus, Ghosts! There has been numerous reports of loud whistling and sounds constantly coming from the dining room in the middle of the night! The faculty have dismissed the claims by saying that it is the blowing of the winds in the hills. But seriously, are students that dumb that they will fail to recognize wind sound?

NIT, Rourkela has its campus build on the a Shamshan Ghat. The reports have not been so frequent but the incidents have been strange. During the ragging period (which is a real nightmare for fresher engineering students), the juniors have begged to sleep in the senior’s hostel because they were scared out of their wits! There has been reports of utensils crashing on the floor with no reason and some even spotting human bones in the cricket ground! (Shamshan, remember?)

Ramnarain Ruia College, Mumbai is one of the most haunted college of India with an interesting story behind it. The students report that a spirit wanders in class room S26 , many times students get to hear the sound of the supernatural entity in action. The mini-auditorium of the college and also the ladies common room are also said to be sites of paranormal activities. Whose spirit is it, it has never been confirmed as such but the scare is enough for students to avoid S26!

It is said that the girls college of this prestigious Agricultural University is haunted. However, there have been so goof up among the students that there is no established fact about the areas of wandering of ghost, it being friendly or hostile. The nature of the ghost remains sketchy as there seems to be no consensus regarding it. But what has been reportedly unanimously is the presence of a Ghost!

Kastoorbha Medical College, Manipal has an interesting story behind its being haunted. It is reported by a number of students on various occasions that the stairways are haunted by a unnamed spirit who claims to be trapped on the eight floor of the building. The greatest confusion of this story is, there is NO EIGHT FLOOR in any building of the campus. Does it sending a secret message and its real interpretation could be something more revealing?Only Sherlock can tell!

Pune University
Pune University has one of the most well maintained and romantic campuses in India but is also has a haunting past! There is a grave of an Australian, Alice Richman who died of Cholera in 1886-as reported by the inscription on her grave. Students have claimed that they have seen Alice Richman’s ghost dressed in white and roaming around. That lead to a belief that she died while riding a horse and some even suggest she committed suicide.
Whatever may be the reason, as soon as you see a lady dressed in white coming towards you, don’t bother to ask her. You Run, you always run!

SNDT Girls College, Mumbai
SNDT Girls College, Mumbai has some chilling incidents when it come to paranormal activities. There have been reports of sounds of children crying and a female voice reciting the multiplication tables are said to be heard from a spot in the campus where there used to be the staff quarters. The sounds are said to proceed about 2 AM. There has been no explanation about it but staff quarters and children do make some kind of material to frame a story!

Fun fact about Women’s College, Calcutta is that it used to be the home to Sir Warren Hastings and another fun fact about it the British Sir never left! According to many students Hastings’ presence is most prominent around New Year’s Eve. They claim that during that time general’s spirit would rush up the staircase of his residence in search of some documents. It makes sense historically because Hastings was once charged with bribery and destroying evidence may be his last resort but keep coming back after it for three centuries! How much was the bribe?

Despite being christian in its name, Christian College is considered as one of the most haunted colleges in India. Students have reported on multiple occasions of sounds coming from the empty chemistry labs. The sounds are as if someone is giving lectures and instructions related to Chemistry! That must be really mad guy who won’t even give his love for the subject, even after death!

Khairatabad Science College, Hyderabad
The only mysterious death reported is in this college. The building ruined gradually and was abandoned. However, the dead bodies in the biology lab were not given a proper disposition. It gained attention when things started to get a little strange. There were claims of often seen walking skeletons, sparks and disturbing noises. A guard appointed by the government was found dead in mysterious circumstances. That was really scary and as you can see from the building, it is scary!
