UP Board Exam 2026 Datesheet Revised: Key Changes Announced
Significant Updates to UP Board Exam Schedule
The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has announced important modifications to the UP Board Exam 2026 schedule. Notably, the Hindi and Sanskrit examinations for both 10th and 12th grades will now take place in distinct shifts and on revised dates.
This update is crucial for the millions of students preparing for the UP Board Exam 2026. The board has altered the timetable for high school (10th) and intermediate (12th) assessments, ensuring that Hindi and Sanskrit exams are no longer conducted simultaneously.
As per the updated schedule, the UP Board exams will commence on February 18, 2026. Initially, both Hindi exams for 10th and 12th grades were set for the same day and shift. However, the new arrangement specifies that the 10th-grade Hindi exam will occur in the morning shift, while the 12th-grade Hindi exam will be held in the afternoon shift.
Changes to Sanskrit Exam Schedule
The date for the Sanskrit exam has also been modified. Originally planned for February 20th in the morning shift, it will now take place in the afternoon shift on March 12, 2026. This adjustment allows students more time to prepare for the subject, potentially enhancing their performance.
Exam Timings
First Shift: 8:30 AM to 11:45 AM
Second Shift: 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM
Projected Student Participation
Over 5.2 million students are expected to participate in the 2026 UP Board exams. This includes approximately 2,750,945 students for the 10th grade and 2,479,352 for the 12th grade. This figure represents a slight increase from the previous year, indicating that the UP Board exams will continue to be among the largest academic assessments in India.
Admit Card Information
Admit cards for all candidates will be distributed by January 2026. Students must collect their admit cards from their respective schools. The board has emphasized that carrying a photo ID, such as an Aadhaar card or voter ID, alongside the admit card is mandatory for entry into the examination center. No student will be allowed to enter the examination hall without both the admit card and a valid ID.
