For example, if a student’s result sheet shows marks for six subjects, the percentage can be derived from the top five scores. To illustrate, one can calculate the percentage by summing the marks from the five main subjects, dividing that total by 5, and then multiplying by 100.

For instance, if a student earns 425 marks out of a possible 500 across five subjects, their overall percentage would be 85%.
