Meghalaya Launches CM-INSPIRE Scheme to Support Civil Services Aspirants
Introduction to the CM-INSPIRE Scheme
The Meghalaya government has introduced the 'CM-INSPIRE' initiative aimed at motivating young people preparing for Civil Services. This program offers financial aid of ₹50,000 to candidates who pass the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination (Prelims) and ₹1 lakh for those who succeed in the Main Examination (Mains).
Purpose of the Initiative
Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma announced the scheme, emphasizing its goal to enhance the dwindling involvement of the state's youth in Civil Services. He pointed out that the representation of Meghalaya's youth in these services has seen a decline in recent years, prompting the need for this initiative.
Scheme Objectives
The primary aim of this scheme is to assist economically disadvantaged yet capable candidates, ensuring they can continue their preparation without financial burdens. This support will enable students to concentrate more effectively on their studies.
Message from the Chief Minister
In his address to the youth, the Chief Minister reassured them of the government's support and encouraged them to stay focused on their aspirations. He urged candidates to maintain their confidence and work diligently towards their goals.
Eligibility and Application Process
Eligible candidates wishing to benefit from this scheme must apply through the Meghalaya Administrative Training Institute (MATI) portal.
