As the largest recruitment body in India, SSC has faced scrutiny in recent years regarding the transparency of its examination processes. Candidates have voiced concerns and protested, prompting SSC to assure that it will now conduct exams without errors.
Key Changes Implemented by SSC
Here are the five significant changes SSC has introduced to enhance the integrity of its exams:
- Multiple Agencies for Exam Management: SSC has revamped its examination management by engaging four different agencies. Each agency is tasked with specific responsibilities, including conducting exams, ensuring security, managing applications, and preparing question papers.
- Single Shift Exams: A major shift in policy is the decision to conduct exams in a single shift. The SSC CGL 2025 is scheduled from September 12 to 26, and all exams will take place in this single shift format.
- Updated Normalization Formula: After six years, SSC is introducing a new normalization formula, applicable only when exams are conducted in a single shift. This change aims to eliminate discrepancies that arose from conducting exams over multiple days and shifts.
- Aadhaar Authentication: To combat cheating and fraudulent practices, SSC has made Aadhaar verification mandatory for all candidates. While this has raised some concerns among candidates, it is expected to enhance the integrity of the examination process.
- Proximity of Exam Centers: Previously, candidates could be assigned exam centers up to 500 kilometers from their homes, causing significant inconvenience.
