Major Exam Scam Uncovered in Uttar Pradesh: Seven Arrested

Uttar Pradesh STF Busts Exam Fraud Ring

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) has revealed a significant examination scam, leading to the arrest of seven individuals. This group allegedly charged candidates large sums of money to help them pass the SSC online exams. During the investigation, authorities seized approximately ₹50 lakh in cash, along with laptops, mobile phones, and several crucial documents.

According to the STF, this gang was involved in fraudulent activities related to recruitment exams for the Central Armed Police Forces, Secretariat Security Forces, and Assam Rifles. They had developed a technical system to manipulate the online examination process, ensuring candidates received the correct answers. It was reported that each candidate was charged around ₹4 lakh for passing the exam.

What Information Did Investigators Receive?

Investigators were tipped off about organized cheating in the online exams conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). Following this, the STF initiated a covert investigation that led them to the Balaji Digital Zone examination center located in Greater Noida.

How Many Suspects Were Arrested?

On May 22, the STF raided the examination center and apprehended seven suspects. The arrested individuals have been identified as Pradeep Chauhan, Arun Kumar, Sandeep Bhati, Nishant Raghav, Amit Rana, Shakir Malik, and Vivek Kumar. Pradeep Chauhan was identified as the mastermind behind this entire operation, having managed the racket for an extended period.

What Did the Investigation Reveal?

The investigation revealed that the suspects did not hack directly into the SSC servers. Instead, they installed a proxy server at the examination center. Through a screen-sharing application, the question papers were sent to external solvers, who then provided the correct answers back to the candidates.

What Did the Police Say About the Case?

The police stated that Arun Kumar was responsible for the technical operations and managed the proxy server system. The STF is conducting an in-depth investigation into the entire network. Authorities are also working to determine if similar methods were employed in other recruitment examinations.
