Top 10 Deaths Mysteries of Indian Colleges that will shock you
When it comes to education, Indian Universities are good even if they are not on the top of the world in imparting knowledge but when it comes to mysterious deaths and suicides, Indian Universities have a dark path! This is a list of some of the universities where some of the tragic deaths happened. Some deaths even sparked debates all over the nation and even made laws.

IIT- Madras
IIT-Madras made headlines in 2015 when there were two suicides in two weeks. There had been atleast 10 suicides in the campus in the last 5 years, a fact that raised eye-brows that made people think what is wrong with this institute? The shocking revelation was that the when the student who committed suicide did not leave a suicide note that made the police look for a different angle. However, there was no conclusion. Isn’t it strange, people who wants to get in IIT are committing suicide because of failure and those who got in still end up dead!

BIT Mesra
There is a lot of mystery in the death of bhay Prafull Minj, a biotechnolgy student of the Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra. In 2009, he went out with his friends for dinner and when he came back he laid down on one of his friend’s room. As he did not responded to his friends, his friends took him to the hospital where he was declared dead. The accusations were made of taking drugs and consuming alcohol but they were then stated baseless as non of his friends were under the influence. This still remains a mystery.

The unsolved mystery of SRM death
There was a lot of mystery behind this death. A student named Sourodeep Ghatuary, a native of Ahmedabad, dead in a stairwell at 6 am on October 5, 2013. He died after a fall and students reported they saw blood coming out of his mouth. They rushed him to the hospital where he was declared dead. The college authorities stated that he may have committed suicide as he could not get a job but autopsy reports denied this fact and even said that the fall from staircase could not kill him. The mystery still remains.

Suicide pact case!
Three girls of SVS medical college of Kerala were found drowned in a well. When locals informed the police, they rushed to the scene to recover the bodies. A girl survived but later died in the hospital. The police were not able to form any link as all the three girls were tied together. Their parents have accused college authorities whereas college authorities have ruled is as a suicide pact among the girls. This case has not been solved.

Amity University, Noida
The whole university shook when they heard that an engineering student who was living away from the hostel in an apartment was found brutally murdered. Two people were arrested for the murder of Rama R Sandesh who had allegedly attacked Sandesh with an axe and also shot him. The accused, who was also the student in the same university was accused to kill him because Rama used to bully him and mock him with his friends. Enraged, he decided to teach him a lesson! This is one shocking murder in Noida.

Death from shooting star!
This is the first recorded death from a meteorite. In February 2016, a loud blast was heard near a water tank shortly after midnight on the Bharathidasan Engineering College premises in K.Bandarappalli village. Kamaraj, a college employee, who had gone to drink water suffered serious injuries and was declared dead when taken to the hospital and three others suffered injuries. There is no other explanation other than a meteorite as there was a crater and pieces of rare stone at the blast site. This could be the first recorded death from a shooting star!

Rohit Vemula
Rohit Vemula was a student of Hyderabad University who committed suicide. In his suicide note, he accused his professor of harassing him and the University authorities of not giving him his stipend because he belonged to lower caste. It was also said that he had differences with the student supporting political organizations. His death sparked a great controversy in the nation and a debate if lower castes are still discriminated.

Ragging Case!
Pon Navarasu, a student of Annamalai University medical college in Tamil Nadu. He was allegedly murdered by his senior John David because he refused to be ragged by him. The senior who was notorious for being a bully, enraged by this killed him and threw his body all over Chennai. He was jailed for two consecutive life sentences for this horrific act and this case also led to the first anti-ragging law in India.

La Martinière College
In 1997, one of the teachers was murdered in the early hours of the morning on 7 March. Thirty-year-old Anglo-Indian Frederick Gomes, the College’s assistant warden and physical training instructor, was murdered in his bungalow on the perimeter of the school grounds. Two people were seen firing shots through a broken window at the back of the building, but the culprits were not identified and the murder remains unsolved. However, the murder created a sensation at the time, especially when it was found that the school’s students had access to guns. This was the first violence in the history of the 152 year old school since Mutiny of 1857.

Snehal Gaware
Shehal Gaware was a resident of Mumbai. She had broken her leg and was in her home to recover. She was on leave from her college and was visited by her friends frequently. One day when her parents were out, they could not find her when they came back. She was later found in the drawer of the bed, mouth gagged and tied. The main accused was her own boyfriend who visited her just after her parents left. He was later accquitted because of no strong evidence.
