Indian authorities have been finding some notorious criminals and terrorists that have been responsible for death and destruction in the Indian territory. These are some most dreaded men in the History of Indian Crime and are responsible for heinous crimes which shook the nation when they were committed. Various Government Agencies like NIA, R&AW has tried to apprehend these criminals but have failed till now and these men remain at large.

Major Iqbal (10)

Major Iqbal is a ex Pakistani Army soldier. He is considered to be one of the brains behind the 26/11 operations. He is an officer in the ISI as well as a Major in the Pakistan Army. He was the person who handled David Headley. He recruited him, and then trained and directed him to oversee a model of the Taj Mahal Hotel so that gunmen could know their way inside the target. Currently Indian authorities need a voice sample of him to prove that he had a role in guiding Kasab and his associates.

Anees Ibrahim (09)

Anees Ibrahim is the brother of the underworld kingpin Dawood Ibrahim. He is one of the most trusted aides of his brother. He is considered as one of the perpetrators of the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts and is the person who makes all the arrangements necessary to carry out his brother’s work. He was shot in 2009 by members of an opponent gang but he survived. Ever since, not much is heard about him.

Chota Shakeel is one of the most feared gangsters and was listed in India’s top most wanted man after his involvement in the 1993 Bomb Blasts. He is most famous for his outspoken calls to Media and for his hatered to Chota Rajan (Another Mumbai Don) and his plans to kill him. He had also purportedly attacked Chhota Rajan during September 2001 in Bangkok. After the death of Osama Bin Laden, he is supposed to have fled to Saudi Arabia from Pakistan. His current whereabouts are unknown but many consider him to be the next chief of D-Company after Dawood Ibharim.

Hafiz Muhammad Saeed (06)

Hafiz Muhammad Saeed is said to be the leader of LeT and also Jamaat-ud-Dawa, which United Nations branded as a terror outfit in December 2008. He is known to be a religious leader in Pakistan and is said to make hate speeches directed at India publicly. He is said to be involved in various terror attacks like 2001 Parliament attacks, 2006 Train Blasts, 26/11 attacks. He is currently under house arrest in Lahore in a fortified house, office and mosque.

Sajid Mir (05)

Sajid Mir came to India during 2005 in the guise of a cricket fan, but he was actually a commander of Lashkar-e-Tayyeba. The visit was in preparation for the Mumbai attacks that followed in 2008. His surveillance provided a base for David Headley to carry out terror attacks against India and Headley reported directly to him. Mir is currently captive in a safe house that is being operated by the ISI directorate from where he gave orders to terrorists in the Mumbai attacks on Internet voice over line to execute the hostages.

Ilyas Kashmiri (04)

Ilyas Kashmiri is head of Harkat-ul-Jehadi Islami, a militant outfit and is also an operative of Al Qaeda. He orchestrated the German Bakery blast that happened in Pune and also had a role to play in the 26/11 attacks. He is also responsible for 2008 attacks in Jaipur, Ahemdabad and Delhi. In addition to that, he is also responsible for the 2002 attack on the American Centre in Kolkata. It had been reported that he had died in 2011 during a US drone strike. However, the reports were denied later on. His present status is unknown.

Masood Azhar (03)

Masood Azhar is a Pakistani Terrorist who is presently the leader of Jaish-e-Mohammed, a militant group based on the portion of Kashmir occupied by Pakistan. He is the terrorist whom the Indian Government was forced to fire in December 1999 in order to release the passengers of Indian Airlines Flight 814 (IC814), which had been hijacked and taken to Taliban controlled Kandahar in Afghanistan. This is considered the biggest mistake of the Indian Authorities as he is responsible for uncountable deaths in the Kashmir and he is also the brains behind the 2001 attacks. He is currently in Pakistan.

Syed Salahuddin (02)

Syed Salahuddin is the leader of the infamous Hizbul Mujahideen, a militant organisation based in Kashmir. He is said to be the head of an “alliance” of Kashmiri Mujahid organisations, the Muttahida Jihad Council, that supports annexation of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir to Pakistan. It is stated that Hizbul Mujahideen is associated with ISI and is backed by entities within Pakistan. Syed is held responsible for a number of terror attacks to have taken place in Jammu and Kashmir. The National Investigation Agency needs him desperately.

Dawood Ibrahim (01)

Dawood Ibrahim is undoubtedly the most wanted man of India. Born and brought up in Mumbai, he soon became the undisputed king of the Mumbai underworld and his D-Company Gang still operates in Mumbai. He is said to have played a major role in the serial blasts that rocked Mumbai in 1993. It was one of the most devastating sequences of bomb explosions to have happened in India. It claimed 350 lives and also injured 1200 people. It is also stated that he had a role to play in the 2008 terror attacks in Mumbai as well and that he was closely associated with Osama Bin Laden, the deceased chief of Al Qaeda. He was also a part of the spot fixing scandal in IPL. Other activities that Ibrahim has indulged in include counterfeiting Indian notes and dealing in drugs. Dawood is also featured in top 10 most wanted men in the world. He is currently in Karachi, Pakistan and reports are that he is not in good health.
