As part of this preparation, the board has released guidelines concerning the List of Candidates (LOC) for the upcoming exams. School principals have received specific instructions regarding the LOC, and a new system will be introduced to rectify errors in mark sheets, such as names and dates of birth.
Changes in Examination Structure
According to the new LOC guidelines, students will face an increase in examination fees starting this year. Additionally, only those students who possess an APAAR ID will be eligible to sit for the board exams. Here’s a breakdown of the key changes:
- Three Board Exams in 2026: CBSE plans to conduct two board examinations for class 10 and one for class 12, totaling three exams in 2026.
- LOC Submission: Schools must upload the list of students for the main class 10 examination only. The list for the second examination will be submitted after the results are announced.
- APAAR ID Requirement: The APAAR ID is now mandatory for students appearing for the 10th and 12th board exams. Schools are instructed not to submit the LOC without this ID.
- Increased Examination Fees: The examination fee has risen by 20 rupees. Students will now pay Rs 320 per subject, totaling Rs 1650 for five subjects, up from Rs 300 per subject.
- Fee Payment Deadline: Schools must ensure that the LOC is uploaded, and students need to fill out the examination form and pay the fees by September 30.
