Winter Break Announced for Schools Amid Cold Weather Across Various States
Winter Breaks Bring Relief to Students and Teachers
New Delhi: The winter season brings much-needed relief for both students and teachers as schools announce winter breaks. Continuing education amidst the morning chill, fog, and dropping temperatures can often pose health challenges.
In light of this, several regions across the country have declared winter holidays. These breaks not only provide students with a chance to relax but also allow parents to spend quality time with their children.
Decision Made for Safety Against Cold
North India and various other areas are experiencing a significant drop in temperatures. The cold wave, dense fog, and poor air quality increase the risk of illness among young children. Consequently, school administrations and state governments are proactively opting for winter breaks to ensure the safety and health of students.
Varying Duration of Holidays Across States
The duration of winter holidays is not uniform across all states. Many states announce breaks based on local weather conditions. Private schools also make decisions independently, leading to variations in holiday dates across different districts and schools within the same state.
Situation in Maharashtra and Other States
In Maharashtra, the winter break is determined differently for each school and board. Schools affiliated with CBSE, ICSE, and international boards typically have holidays around Christmas at the end of December. As temperatures drop, school management may also decide to extend breaks or adjust timings.
Preparations for Holidays in Haryana
Currently, the Haryana state government has not officially announced winter holidays. However, there are indications that holidays may commence from January 1. Several private schools in Faridabad have declared a break from January 1 to January 11, and school timings have also been adjusted due to the cold.
Possibility of Extended Holidays
In the event of adverse weather conditions, the duration of winter breaks may be extended. In the past, many states have increased holiday periods due to severe cold. Authorities are monitoring the weather closely and may make further decisions as necessary.
