West Bengal Primary Teacher Recruitment Announcement

Recruitment Update: The West Bengal Education Minister, Bratya Basu, announced on Thursday that a notification for the recruitment of 13,421 teachers will be released following the Durga Puja festival. This news comes as a significant relief for those seeking teaching positions in the state during this festive period.

Basu shared on X, "Under the guidance of Honorable Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the West Bengal State Board of Primary Education is set to issue a notification for the recruitment of 13,421 vacant teaching posts. The recruitment process will commence immediately after the puja celebrations. Wishing all job seekers the best of luck in advance."

Teacher Eligibility Test 2023 Results Released
On September 24th, the West Bengal Board of Primary Education announced the results for the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2023. Out of 273,147 candidates who took the exam, only 6,754 (2.47%) were successful.

Additionally, candidates from the 2022 TET who have yet to receive interview invitations protested earlier this month, arguing that over 50,000 positions in primary and upper primary schools are still unfilled. However, the Education Minister refuted this claim, assuring that the board would soon release a notification to address all vacant positions.
