UPSSSC PET Examination Overview

Today, the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) is conducting the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) statewide. Candidates will participate in the first paper of the PET, which is organized in two shifts. The initial shift is set from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Exam Schedule and Candidate Participation

The UPSSSC PET is taking place today, October 25, with the first paper scheduled in two shifts: the first from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and the second from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

With a significant number of candidates expected to participate, the Commission has urged them to remain vigilant and avoid any minor errors. If you are among those taking the UP PET, ensure you are thoroughly prepared.

Important Exam Dates

The UPSSSC PET for 2026 is planned for October 25, October 30, and November 1. A total of 1,372 examination centers have been established across 60 districts, with 35,41,297 candidates registered for the test, which will also be conducted in two shifts.

Timely Arrival at Exam Centers

Candidates are required to arrive at their respective exam centers two hours prior to the examination. The main gates will close 30 minutes before each shift begins—at 9:30 AM for the morning session and at 2:30 PM for the afternoon session. No candidates will be allowed entry once the gates are closed, so it is crucial to arrive on time.

Essential Documents for Entry

To enter the examination hall, candidates must bring specific documents. The most critical document is the admit card, which should be downloaded from the official website of the commission. Additionally, candidates must present an original photo ID proof—such as an Aadhaar card, voter ID, passport, or driving license—along with a photocopy. It is also necessary to attach two recent passport-sized photographs to the ID proof, with the candidate's name, roll number, and exam date written on the back.

Prohibited Items During the Exam

According to examination regulations, electronic devices are strictly banned within the centers. Candidates are not allowed to bring mobile phones, calculators, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, or any other electronic gadgets into the examination hall. Only blue or black ballpoint pens are permitted for writing.

Exam Format and Negative Marking Policy

The UP PET will feature 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) to be completed within a 2-hour timeframe. The syllabus includes topics such as History, Geography, Economy, Constitution, General Science, Mathematics, Hindi, English, Logical Reasoning, and Graph Analysis. There is a negative marking system in place; for each incorrect answer, one-fourth of a mark (0.25 marks) will be deducted. Candidates must accurately enter the serial number of the question paper on the OMR sheet, ensuring that circles are completely filled and that no more than one circle is marked for any question, as this will invalidate the answer.
