Exam Overview



The UPSC Combined Defense Services (CDS) 2 exam is set to take place on September 14, 2025, across three shifts. Concurrently, the National Defense Academy (NDA) exam will occur in two shifts on the same day.


Admit Card Availability

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has made the admit cards for both the CDS 2 and NDA/NA 2 exams available for download. Candidates can access their e-admit cards through the official UPSC website at upsc.gov.in.


Admit Card Requirements

Candidates must ensure that their photographs on the admit card are clear. If the image is unclear or if the name and date are not visible, they are required to bring a valid photo ID and three passport-sized photographs with their name and date written on them to the exam center. A photograph is necessary for each session, and candidates must also submit a written undertaking.


Exam Timetable

UPSC CDS 2 Exam Schedule:



  • English: 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM


  • General Knowledge: 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM


  • Elementary Mathematics: 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM



UPSC NDA and NA 2 Exam Schedule:



  • First Session: 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM


  • Second Session: 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM



Candidate Instructions

UPSC advises all candidates to arrive at their respective exam centers at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the exam to prevent any last-minute issues. The CDS and NDA exams are highly competitive national-level assessments conducted by UPSC for entry into the Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, and National Defence Academy. Successful candidates will be commissioned as officers in the Indian Armed Forces.
