UGC NET June 2026 Results Released


UGC NET June 2026 Result: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the results for the UGC NET re-examination. The final results for the subjects of English, Commerce, and Sociology have been made public. These re-examinations took place on September 9 and 10, 2026, in 272 cities across the country. The results for these subjects were delayed compared to other subjects released in August. Candidates can now access the UGC NET re-examination results at ugcnet.nta.nic.in.


Examination Statistics

According to the NTA, a total of 196,491 candidates registered for the exams in the three subjects. Out of these, around 61% (120,355 students) participated in the examination. A total of 35,588 candidates qualified, which is approximately 29.57% of those who took the exam. Many successful candidates are now eligible for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professor positions, and PhD admissions.


Cut-Off Marks Overview

What were the cut-off marks for the UGC NET re-examination?
For the JRF in English, the cut-off was set at 226, while Sociology had a cut-off of 232 marks. This indicates a highly competitive environment, but diligent candidates achieved their desired results.


Category-Wise Performance

From the NTA's data, 35,588 candidates excelled in the English, Commerce, and Sociology exams. Specifically, 824 candidates qualified for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), making up about 0.68% of the total examinees. Furthermore, 11,610 candidates (approximately 9.65%) qualified for the Assistant Professor role, while 23,154 students (19.24%) qualified for PhD admissions.

In the UGC NET re-examination results, cut-off marks varied by category. For Sociology, the JRF cut-off for the Unreserved (General) category was the highest at 232 marks, while the Assistant Professor cut-off was 206 marks. In Commerce, the General category cut-off was 210 marks for JRF and 182 marks for Assistant Professor. In English, the JRF cut-off for General category students was set at 226 marks. Candidates from EWS, OBC, SC, and ST categories also performed commendably, successfully meeting their respective cut-offs.
