UGC NET June 2026 Examination Update



Candidates who participated in the UGC NET June 2026 examination have received significant updates. The National Testing Agency (NTA) published the provisional answer keys and response sheets on August 16, 2026. This allows candidates to verify their answers against the official keys. If discrepancies are found, candidates can submit their objections online within the designated period.


The NTA has released answer keys for 84 out of the 87 subjects. The status of the answer keys for English, Commerce, and Sociology will be communicated later.

The UGC NET June 2026 examination took place from June 22 to June 30, 2026, at various locations nationwide, covering a total of 87 subjects. Provisional answer keys for 84 subjects are now accessible online.


Complaints regarding the question papers for English, Commerce, and Sociology have been noted. An expert committee has been formed to investigate these issues, and a separate announcement will follow based on their findings.


Objection Submission Process

Candidates can file objections until August 18, 2026. The NTA has opened a window for candidates to challenge any answers they believe are incorrect. A fee of ₹200 is required for each objection submitted.


The objection submission process commenced on August 16 and will close at 11:59 PM on August 18, 2026. Experts will evaluate the objections, and if any are deemed valid, adjustments will be made to the answer key. The final results will be based on the updated answer key.


Steps to Download the Answer Key

To download the answer key, candidates should visit the official website: ugcnet.nta.nic.in. They should click on the 'UGC NET June 2026 Provisional Answer Key Challenge' link. After logging in with their application number, date of birth or password, and security pin, the response sheet and answer key will be displayed. Candidates can then download and save these documents for their records.
