UGC NET June 2024 Re-exam: Shift to Online Mode, Check Updated Exam Pattern
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the UGC NET June 2024 cycle re-examination will be conducted online in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. The initial exam, held on June 18, was cancelled due to a possible paper leak, with the question paper reportedly circulated on the dark web two days before the test. Following this incident, the Ministry of Education ordered the cancellation on June 19.

Shift to CBT Mode
- Official Notice: The NTA confirmed the re-examination will return to the conventional CBT format, moving away from the previously planned pen-and-paper mode.
- The official NTA statement reads: “The UGC NET June 2024 Cycle examination was previously conducted in Pen & Paper (offline) mode. However, it will now be held in the Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.”

Exam Pattern
- Structure: The UGC NET 2024 exam consists of two papers:
- Paper 1: 50 questions, designed to assess teaching and research aptitude.
- Paper 2: 100 questions, specific to the candidate’s subject of expertise.
- Total Marks: 300 marks (150 questions total)
- Time Duration: 3 hours (180 minutes) for both papers combined.
- Question Type: Objective-type, featuring Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
- No Negative Marking: There is no penalty for incorrect answers.
