Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) is conducted by Indian Air Force to recruit officers (M/F) for branches namely aeronautical engineering/technical branch, flying branch, ground duty branch.
Indian Air Force will organize AFCAT examination on 21-2-2016. Application commenced on 5-12-2015 and will last till 31-12-2015.

- AFCAT Syllabus 2016
- General Awareness: History, Sports, Geography, Environment, Civics, Basic Science, Defence, Art, Culture, Current Affairs, Politics etc.
- Verbal Ability in English: Comprehension, Error Detection, Sentence Completion, Synonyms, Antonyms and Testing of Vocabulary.
- Numerical Ability: Decimal Fraction, Simplification, Average, Profit & loss, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion and Simple interest.
- Reasoning and military aptitude test: Verbal Skills and Spatial Ability.
- Age limit
- Flying Branch: 20-24
- Engineering Branch: 20-26
- Ground Duty: 20-26
- Education qualification:
- Flying Branch: Graduation in any discipline or B.E/ B.Tech with 60% marks
- Technical Branch: Four year degree qualification or cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India with 60% marks.
- Ground Duty Branch: Graduation with 60% marks/ Graduation Degree in Commerce/ Post Graduation Degree/ Diploma in any discipline/ C.A/ ICWA with 50% marks
- Selection Process: Candidates will be selected on the basisi of their performance in AFCAT & Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) (for candidates applied for technical branch only) followed by Intelligence Test, Psychological Test, Group Test, Medical Test and Interview conducted by Air Force Selection Boards (AFSBs). Candidates applying for Flying Branch must appear for CPSS (Computerized Pilot Selection System), Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT).
