SSC Issues Warning Against Sharing Exam Question Papers on Social Media

SSC's Strict Notice on Exam Paper Discussions
SSC Alert: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has recently issued a warning to individuals and organizations regarding the sharing of discussions and analyses related to the question papers of ongoing SSC examinations on social media platforms. The commission has urged everyone to refrain from discussing, analyzing, or disseminating the question papers currently in use. It has also indicated that severe penalties may be imposed on those who violate this directive.
According to the SSC's latest notice, offenders could face imprisonment for up to 10 years and a hefty fine of ₹1 crore. This warning comes in response to the commission's discovery that numerous individuals are sharing SSC question paper content on social media for discussion and analysis.
The SSC's official statement reads, "The Commission has observed that certain individuals are discussing, analyzing, or distributing the contents of question papers from examinations conducted or currently being conducted by the Staff Selection Commission. Such activities are strictly forbidden under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024 (PEA Act, 2024)."
Legal Actions Under the PEA Act, 2024
The Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024 outlines several prohibited activities.
Section 3 - Unfair Means
This section prohibits the leaking, disclosing, accessing, possessing, or disseminating of question papers, answer keys, or any related content without authorization.
Section 9 - Nature of Offences
All violations under this Act are classified as cognizable, non-bailable, and non-compoundable offences.
Section 10 - Penalty
Individuals found guilty may face imprisonment ranging from 3 to 5 years along with a fine of ₹10 lakh. Institutions could incur fines up to ₹1 crore, face disqualification from future examinations, and be liable for recovery costs.
In cases of organized crime, the imprisonment term could extend from 5 to 10 years, with fines not less than ₹1 crore.
