SSC Introduces Major Reforms for Enhanced Examination Transparency and Security

Overview of SSC Reforms
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has rolled out significant reforms aimed at enhancing the transparency, security, and candidate-friendliness of its national examinations. These initiatives are designed to bolster the integrity of the examination process while providing improved facilities and a trustworthy environment for millions of candidates. The effectiveness of these reforms was notably evident during the recent CGL Tier-I examination.
Key Features of the Reforms
For the first time, candidates can now access their question papers, their submitted answers, and the correct answers. This feature enables them to evaluate their performance and challenge the answer keys with verified authenticity. Additionally, the SSC plans to release previous question papers as official sample sets to assist candidates in their preparation.
The fee for disputing questions has been lowered from ₹100 to ₹50 per question, providing financial relief to students who previously struggled with the higher costs.
New Grievance Redressal System
An online grievance portal has been established, accompanied by a toll-free helpline to address candidates' issues promptly. The SSC aims to ensure fairness in results by adjusting for variations in difficulty levels across different exam shifts, guaranteeing equal treatment for all participants.
Enhanced Security Measures
To combat cheating and ensure transparency, Aadhaar-based authentication has been introduced. Question papers are now dispatched from a secure digital vault to prevent leaks. The SSC is also collaborating with IT expert agencies to monitor and prevent hacking attempts, taking strict action against exam centers and candidates who breach regulations.
Recent Examinations and Upcoming Plans
The CGL Tier-I 2025 examination attracted around 2.8 million applications, with 1.35 million candidates participating across 126 cities and 255 centers. Due to technical difficulties at certain locations, the SSC has rescheduled the exam for October 14th, with the process for challenging questions commencing on October 15th.
In the upcoming months, the SSC will conduct several key examinations, including recruitment for CHSL, MTS, Junior Engineer, Delhi Police, and CAPFs, all under the new reform framework to ensure fairness and efficiency.
Direct Communication with Candidates
To combat misinformation, the SSC has launched its official X handle (@SSC_GoI) and encourages candidates to rely solely on official communications for accurate information.
