The registration period for UCEED 2026, an essential examination for aspiring design professionals, has officially commenced. This exam is vital for those looking to enroll in a Bachelor of Design (B.Des) program.


The Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design (UCEED) 2026 is now open for registration. This national-level examination, organized by IIT Bombay, is aimed at students who have completed their 12th grade and wish to pursue a B.Des degree.


Exam Date: January 18, 2026


Candidates are allowed to attempt the UCEED exam twice in consecutive years. The score obtained is valid for one academic year only.


Admission Information


The UCEED 2026 score will facilitate entry into the four-year B.Des programs at various Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), including IIT Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Roorkee, and the Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM) Jabalpur. Eligibility Criteria


Candidates who have completed their 12th grade or are set to appear for the examination in 2026 in any stream—Science, Commerce, Arts, or Humanities—from a recognized board are eligible to apply. Applicants must have been born on or after October 1, 2001 (or October 1, 1996 for candidates belonging to SC, ST, or PWD categories).


Exam Structure


The UCEED 2026 will feature a question paper worth 300 marks, with a total duration of three hours. It will be divided into two parts: Part A and Part B. Part A, which is worth 200 marks, will consist of three sections: Section 1 will have 14 numerical answer type questions (4 marks each), Section 2 will include 15 multiple-choice questions, and Section 3 will consist of 28 multiple-choice questions. Part B will be worth 100 marks and will focus on assessing drawing skills and design aptitude.
