RBSE Introduces Twice-Yearly Class 10 Board Exams Starting 2026-27
RBSE Class 10 Board Exam Update
RBSE 10th Board Exam 2027: The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) has revealed plans to hold the Class 10 board examinations biannually, starting from the academic year 2026-27. This initiative aims to alleviate exam-related pressure on students and allows those who are unhappy with their results to retake the exam without waiting for the next academic year.
As per the new guidelines, all Class 10 students must take the first board exam. Those who pass will have the chance to sit for a second exam, which is designed to help them enhance their scores. Students can improve their grades in up to three subjects during this second opportunity.
Exam Schedule:
Reports indicate that this decision was made by Madan Dilawar, the Minister for School Education and Panchayati Raj in Rajasthan. The inaugural RBSE Class 10 board exam is anticipated to occur in February-March, with the second exam scheduled for May-June. Both assessments will adhere to the Class 10 syllabus and maintain the same exam structure and grading criteria. Students who are content with their performance in the first exam may opt out of the second.
Changes to Mark Sheets:
In a notable change, the Rajasthan Board has decided that the terms 'Fail' or 'Supplementary' will no longer appear on students' mark sheets. If a student passes the first exam and opts not to take the second, their mark sheet will reflect only the scores from the first exam. Students who score below 33% in two subjects will be allowed to take the second board exam under the 'Essential Improvement' (EI) category.
