NVS JNV Class 6 Admission Process



NVS JNV Class 6 Registration 2026: The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) is set to conclude the application process for class 6 admissions for the academic year 2026-27 tomorrow. Parents have until August 27, 2025, to complete the online application for their children. This process pertains to the 2026 batch.


It is recommended that parents wishing for their child to enroll in Navodaya Vidyalaya complete the application promptly by visiting navodaya.gov.in or cbseitms.nic.in.


Exam Schedule:
The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) will take place in two phases for class 6 admissions. The first phase is scheduled for December 13, 2025, while the second phase will occur on April 11, 2026. A total of 80 seats in each Navodaya Vidyalaya will be filled through the JNVST, and passing this exam is essential for admission.


Seat Reservation Guidelines:
Seventy-five percent of the seats in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya are allocated for students from rural backgrounds, with the remaining 25% available to students from both rural and urban areas based on merit. To qualify for the rural quota, students must have completed classes 3, 4, and 5 in a government, government-aided, or recognized school located in a rural area of their district.


Eligibility Criteria for Urban Students:
Students who have attended schools in urban areas for classes 3, 4, and 5 will be classified as urban students and will not qualify for the rural quota. This policy aims to maximize opportunities for children from rural regions to study at Navodaya Vidyalaya.


Application Process:

  2. Click on the "Class 6 Admission 2026" link available on the homepage.


  3. Enter the student's name, date of birth, mobile number, and other required details on the registration page.


  4. Upload scanned copies of necessary documents (e.g., birth certificate, residency certificate, school certificate).


  5. Review the application thoroughly and submit the final form.


  6. After submission, retain a printout of the receipt/form for your records.
