NTA Announces NEET UG 2026 Refund Process Updates for Students
Important Updates on NEET UG 2026 Refund Process
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has provided crucial information regarding the refund process for NEET UG 2026. Students who mistakenly entered incorrect bank details will have a chance to correct them after the examination. Below are the key points about the refund procedure, bank verification, and other essential updates.
As part of the NEET UG 2026 examination process, the NTA has confirmed that refunds will only be processed to bank accounts that have been registered and verified on their official portal. Students who made mistakes while entering their bank information will be allowed to amend these errors post-exam.
Importance of Accurate Bank Details for Refunds
The NTA emphasizes that the refund process will be conducted online and securely. Therefore, it is vital for candidates to ensure that the bank account details they provide are both active and accurate. Submitting incorrect information could lead to delays in the refund process or even result in the payment being stuck. Refunds will only be issued to accounts that are linked to the candidate's name and have been verified on the portal. Hence, students are encouraged to verify their details carefully.
Verifying Bank Details
Students can verify their bank information by logging into the official portal using their application number along with either their password or date of birth. Once logged in, they should navigate to the ‘Bank Verification’ section to review their bank account number, IFSC code, and account holder’s name. Any discrepancies should be corrected promptly.
Additional Correction Opportunity for Students
In response to feedback from candidates facing challenges during the bank detail verification process, the NTA has decided to provide an additional correction window after the examination. This will allow students who entered incorrect bank details or faced verification issues to update their information. The aim is to ensure that no student is denied a refund due to a simple data entry mistake.
Response to Student Concerns
Recently, numerous students expressed concerns on social media about the refund process, fearing they might not receive their refunds if their bank details were incorrect. In response to these concerns, the NTA has assured that eligible candidates will have the opportunity to make necessary corrections, ensuring their funds reach the correct accounts.
Caution Against Cyber Fraud
In conjunction with the refund updates, the NTA has issued a warning regarding potential cyber fraud. The agency cautioned that some individuals may attempt to deceive candidates by promising quick refunds or offering assistance with bank verification. Students and their families are advised to be wary of suspicious calls, SMS messages, emails, or social media links, and to obtain official information solely from the relevant portal.
The NTA has made it clear that they will never request OTPs, passwords, UPI PINs, or any payment-related information from candidates.
