Study in the UK: Students aspiring to pursue their education in the UK have received encouraging news. Nottingham Trent University has introduced merit-based scholarships specifically for Indian students. These scholarships are aimed at those enrolling in postgraduate programs for the January 2026 intake. As per an official announcement, the scholarships can cover up to 50% of the tuition fees for Indian students.
The scholarship program includes three distinct awards: the "India Prestigious University Award," which is worth £4,000 (around ₹4.74 lakh), the NTU International Merit Scholarship valued at £3,000 (approximately ₹3.55 lakh), and the NTU International Scholarship worth £2,000 (about ₹2.37 lakh). These awards will be granted to students who receive an admission offer from the university for the January 2026 intake.
Eligibility Criteria for Scholarships:
The 'India Prestigious University Award' is available to graduates from specific universities, including Delhi University, Mumbai University, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Madras University, Kolkata University, and Bangalore University. To be eligible, students must also fulfill certain academic standards.
For students achieving first-class results: Those with 70% or higher marks, a CGPA of 7.0/10, or 6.0/7 will qualify for the £4,000 award.
For students with second-class results: Those with at least 55% marks, a CGPA of 5.5/10, or 4.5/7 will be eligible for the £3,000 scholarship.
To apply for these scholarships, candidates must complete the university's application form and indicate their interest in the India Prestigious University Award. Additionally, applicants can submit a comprehensive scholarship application to be considered for an award that may cover up to 50% of their tuition fees. Last year, Nottingham Trent University awarded scholarships to 1,300 students from over 80 countries.
