Introduction to New Sainik Schools


New Sainik Schools: The admission process for Sainik Schools is currently in progress nationwide. Excitingly, three additional Sainik Schools have been established. As per an official government announcement, the newly opened institutions include Sri SPK Public Senior Secondary School in Tamil Nadu, Namakkal Residential Sainik School in Goa, and Yogeshwari Sainik School in Ambajogai, Maharashtra. Admissions are actively being accepted at these locations.


Current Operational Sainik Schools

So many Sainik Schools are currently operational
Currently, there are 69 new Sainik Schools for Class 6 and 19 approved for Class 9. Interested students or their guardians can submit applications for the entrance examination via the National Testing Agency (NTA) official website, nta.nic.in, until October 30 at 5 PM. The entrance examination is scheduled for January 2026, with the Class 9 exam conducted in English and Class 6 available in 13 different languages.


Details of the Sainik School Admission Entrance Exam

Sainik School Admission Entrance Exam
The All India Sainik School Entrance Exam (AISSEE) 2026 will utilize a multiple-choice question (MCQ) format, administered through pen and paper (OMR sheets). For Class 6, the exam will be available in 13 languages, including Hindi and English, totaling 300 marks over 150 minutes. The Language section will feature 25 questions worth 50 marks each, Mathematics will have 50 questions at three marks each, and the Intellectual Ability section will consist of 25 questions also worth 50 marks each. The Class 9 exam will be conducted over 180 minutes.


Application Fee and Results

Application Fee
The examination fee is set at Rs. 850 for General, Other Backward Classes (OBC), Military, and Ex-Servicemen candidates, while Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates will pay Rs. 700. The results are anticipated to be announced in February 2026.
