New Recruitment Guidelines for EMRS Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff

Overview of EMRS Recruitment Changes
Updated Recruitment Process: The National Education Society for Tribal Studies (NESTS) has revised the hiring procedures for both teaching and non-teaching roles at Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS). This update follows a review conducted by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, aiming to enhance opportunities for candidates from various states and linguistic backgrounds. Notably, the requirement for proficiency in Hindi has been removed for certain positions.
Key Changes in EMRS Recruitment Guidelines
Language Proficiency Assessment:
The evaluation for Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) roles will now include assessments in English, Hindi, and a selected regional language. This section will be worth 30 marks, with a minimum passing score of 12. However, this will be a qualifying criterion and will not influence the overall merit list.
Specific Provisions for Staff Positions
Relaxation for Female Staff Nurses:
The new guidelines have eased the Hindi language requirement for female staff nurse roles, while it remains compulsory for Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) positions. PGTs, who instruct students in grades 9 to 12, must still demonstrate proficiency in Hindi.
State-Level Recruitment Insights
Concerns Addressed:
During a recent discussion between the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and state departments, Andhra Pradesh raised issues regarding the language requirement. States such as Bihar and Tamil Nadu have yet to finalize agreements with NESTS, leading to state-level recruitment processes.
