New Exam Center Assignment Rule for JEE, NEET, and CUET by NTA

Changes to Exam Center Selection
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has introduced a significant change affecting major examinations such as JEE, NEET, and CUET. Candidates will no longer have the option to select their preferred exam centers. Instead, the assigned exam center will be determined based on the address provided on their Aadhaar card. This initiative aims to enhance transparency and organization within the examination process.
Update Your Aadhaar Information
In a recent announcement, the NTA has urged students and their guardians to ensure that their Aadhaar card details, particularly the address, are accurate before the application process commences. Once applications are submitted, no changes to the Aadhaar information will be permitted. Therefore, it is crucial for students to rectify any inaccuracies promptly.
Exam Schedule for 2026-27
The NTA has confirmed that the national entrance examination cycle for the academic year 2026-27 will kick off with JEE Main 2026. Students are encouraged to verify their documents, including Aadhaar and 10th-grade certificates, ahead of time.
Matching Details Required
It is essential that the name, date of birth, and other personal details on the Aadhaar card align with those on the 10th-grade certificate. Any inconsistencies could lead to application rejection. Additionally, the exam center will be allocated based on the Aadhaar address.
Guidance for Reserved Category Students
Students belonging to the Disabled, SC, ST, OBC, and EWS categories should prepare their certificates in advance. The information on these documents must also correspond with the details on the Aadhaar and 10th-grade certificates. Once the application form is submitted, no modifications to these documents will be allowed.
As a result, the exam centers for NEET, JEE, and CUET will be assigned according to the Aadhaar card address rather than personal preference. It is imperative for all students to ensure their documents are accurate and to concentrate on their exam preparations.
