NEET-UG Re-Examination Preparations Underway

Preparations for the NEET-UG re-examination are now in full swing. As previously communicated, the transportation of question papers to various sites has commenced using Air Force aircraft. A special aircraft, known as 'Gajraj', has successfully landed in Patna, Bihar, delivering the NEET-UG re-examination papers. Strict security protocols were established at Patna Airport for this operation. Upon arrival, the question papers were swiftly unloaded and moved to secure locations. They were then sent to Darbhanga and Gaya airports, where they were handed over to the appropriate officials.

Exam Rescheduled Following Paper Leak

The NEET-UG re-examination is set for June 21, following its initial scheduling on May 3, which was canceled by the National Testing Agency (NTA) due to a paper leak incident. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is currently probing the leak, with several arrests made for allegedly providing exam-related materials to candidates for substantial sums.

Public Grievance Portal Launched

In preparation for the exam, the NTA has introduced a public grievance portal for candidates to report any suspicious activities, including fake websites or false claims regarding question paper leaks. This portal can be accessed at innovateindia.mygov.in/neet-ug-2026.

NTA Warns Against Misinformation

**Avoid Rumors and Misinformation**

The NTA has issued a warning to students, urging them not to be swayed by rumors or misinformation related to the medical entrance exam. The agency emphasized that no one has prior access to the question papers before the exam and encouraged candidates to report any suspicious offers through the new platform. Information submitted via the portal will be thoroughly investigated by the relevant authorities.

Telegram Ban Implemented

**Telegram Ban Enforced**

To safeguard the examination process, the NTA has enforced a ban on Telegram. Despite some concerns regarding this decision, NTA Director General Abhishek Singh defended the action, acknowledging that while it may not be entirely foolproof—since some users might circumvent the ban using VPNs—the restriction would significantly diminish the market for fraudulent activities.

Rapid Re-examination Organization

**Re-examination Organized in Just 37 Days**

The NTA Director General highlighted that organizing the NEET-UG re-examination within just 37 days was a remarkable feat, especially compared to the usual preparation period of five to six months. This rapid timeline included tasks such as question paper preparation, proofreading, translation into 13 languages, and the printing and transportation of 2.2 million question papers. The Ministry of Defence and the Air Force played a crucial role in reducing the transportation time from 15-20 days to merely three or four days.

Enhanced Security Measures

**Stringent Security Protocols**

Regarding security for the exam, the NTA has established multiple layers of protection at every stage—from question paper preparation and translation to printing, storage, and transportation. The agency collaborated with various entities, including the Ministry of Home Affairs, paramilitary forces, the Department of Posts, the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of External Affairs, state governments, state police, and local administrations to ensure the smooth conduct of the exam across 5,440 centers nationwide and 14 centers abroad.
