Every year, over 20 lakh candidates take the NEET UG exam. Conducting this exam in a single day and shift is impractical in an online format. Therefore, NEET UG 2027 will be administered over several days and multiple shifts. This change may lead to variations in question paper difficulty, prompting the introduction of a normalization process—a percentile-based marking system—to ensure fairness.


Conducting the NEET UG Exam in 2027:


From 2027 onwards, the pen-and-paper format will be eliminated. Candidates will answer questions displayed on a computer screen using a mouse. The exam will span 5 to 6 days and will be conducted in approximately 15 to 20 shifts. The syllabus (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and total marks (720) will remain unchanged. Unlike the previous OMR sheet method, the CBT format allows candidates to modify their answers multiple times or mark questions for later review.
