NEET-UG 2026: NTA Addresses Rumors of Question Paper Leak

NEET-UG 2026 Scheduled for May 3

New Delhi: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduates (NEET-UG) is set to take place on May 3, 2026, from 2 PM to 5 PM. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has confirmed that all examination papers and confidential materials have been securely delivered to their designated locations. In response to circulating rumors about a potential leak of the question paper on social media, the NTA has firmly stated that there is no chance of any leaks or early access to the papers.

NTA Denies False Claims

The NTA has clarified that the claims spreading on social media and Telegram channels are false and misleading. In a tweet, they urged the public not to fall for scams or unnecessary panic, stating, 'NTA is actively taking action against all such reports.'

The agency has also encouraged students to report such rumors to cybercrime authorities or the NTA for appropriate action.

Examination to be Held at 552 Centers

This year, the NEET UG 2026 examination will be conducted across 552 centers statewide. Efforts are being made to ensure a smooth and fair administration of the exam at all centers nationwide. In Gurugram, 875 candidates will take the exam at 18 centers. According to ADC Sonu Bhatt, officials have ensured all necessary facilities and smooth traffic management at the examination centers.

What Happens if Biometric Fails?

Will candidates be allowed to sit for the NEET UG 2026 exam if they fail the biometric verification? The NTA has recently informed candidates that on the exam day, each candidate must undergo a mandatory biometric process before entering the examination hall.

If a candidate's biometric test fails due to hardware issues, poor quality of biometric data, connectivity failures with UIDAI, or physical inability to provide biometric data, they will still be permitted to enter the exam room. However, they must provide a written undertaking, the format of which will be available at the examination center.

Exam Timing

Notably, the biometric process will not disrupt the examination duration, which runs from 2 PM to 5 PM (extended to 6 PM for candidates with disabilities).
