MCC Introduces New Guidelines for NEET UG Counseling 2025: Key Updates

Significant Updates in NEET UG Counseling 2025

The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) has announced important changes for students participating in NEET UG Counseling 2025. Candidates now have the option to withdraw from their allocated seats until September 3, 2025, without forfeiting their security deposit. Additionally, new disability centers have been established for candidates in the PwBD category, and the Divyangjan portal will remain operational until September 9.

Extended Withdrawal Deadline

In a significant update for the first round of NEET UG Counseling 2025, the MCC has extended the deadline for candidates to withdraw from their seats. Previously, students had a limited timeframe to resign, but now they can do so until 5 PM on September 3, 2025, without losing their security deposit.

Important Resignation Procedures

Online Confirmation Required for Resignation

The MCC has clarified that verbal or offline resignations will not be accepted. Students who have confirmed their admission and received a seat confirmation letter must visit the college to formally resign. Conversely, those who have not yet received their confirmation letter can resign directly through the online portal, which will be treated as a Free Exit.

It is crucial for colleges to register the resignation on the MCC portal; otherwise, it will be deemed invalid.

New Facilities for PwBD Candidates

Enhanced Support for Disabled Candidates

The MCC has introduced new facilities for PwBD candidates in the MBBS admission process. Several new medical colleges have been authorized to issue disability certificates, simplifying the process for candidates. As per the interim guidelines from the NMC, students can now undergo medical examinations at these newly designated centers, in addition to the existing 16 centers.

Divyangjan Portal Availability

Portal Open Until September 9

The Divyangjan Portal is currently active for the second round of NEET UG counseling and will remain open until noon on September 9, 2025. Candidates are encouraged to upload their certificates promptly using this portal.

These initiatives by the MCC aim to enhance transparency and accessibility in the medical admission process, providing significant relief to students regarding seat withdrawal and the certificate acquisition process for disabled candidates.
