Karnataka 2nd PUC Exam 2024: Practical Exams Cancelled for Visually Impaired Students, Details Here

The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) announced on December 8 that visually-impaired candidates appearing for the Karnataka 2nd Pre-University Certificate (PUC) Exams 2024 will not have practical exams. However, viva voce sessions will be conducted for these candidates. The official notification is available on the KSEAB's main site at kseab.karnataka.gov.in.

Changes for Visually-Impaired Candidates

• Practical Exams: Not conducted for visually-impaired candidates.
• Viva Voce: Will be conducted instead.
• Internal Assessments: Government has set 20 marks for internal assessments for these students due to the challenges in arranging writers and engaging them fully in projects.

Decision and Discussions

The decision stemmed from discussions with senior representatives from the Department of School Education’s Commission for Persons with Disabilities (Pre-Graduate). This decision aligns with the current academic year's internal evaluation system for students.

Objections and Concerns Deadline

Parents and students were given until December 15, 2023, to raise objections about the exam dates. Objections were submitted in hard copy to the Chairman of the Karnataka School Examination and Valuation Board and via email to chairpersonkseab@gmail.com.
