JEE Main 2024: Checklist of Documents Required for Registration

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2024 will be held in two sessions. This means that aspiring candidates will have the opportunity to appear for the exam twice, first in January/February and then again in April. The application process for this highly competitive examination is expected to open in December this year. In this article, we will provide you with the essential details you need to know about JEE Main 2024 registration.

Two Papers in JEE Main 2024:

There are two papers in JEE Main 2024, catering to different academic programs:

• Paper 1: This paper is for those seeking admission to BE and BTech programs at National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), and various other institutions and universities.

• Paper 2: Paper 2 is designed for students aspiring to pursue BArch and BPlanning courses.

Documents Required for JEE Main 2024 Registration:

Before applying for JEE Main 2024, make sure you have the following documents ready:

1. Scanned images of your photograph and signature.
2. Category certificate (if you belong to any reserved category).
3. Net banking details for payment of registration fees.
4. Identity proof, such as an Aadhaar card, bank passbook photo, or ration card.
5. Person with Disabilities (PWD) certificate, if applicable.

Photo and Signature Requirements:

When submitting your photo and signature, please ensure they meet the following specifications:

• The photograph can be in black and white or color, with at least 80 percent of the face, including the ears, visible.
• The background of the photograph should be white, as per NTA rules.
• Both the photograph and signature should be in JPG/JPEG format.
• The size of the photo should be between 10 kb to 200 kb.
• The size of the signature image must be between 4 kb to 30 kb.
• If you are submitting a scanned copy of a category and/or PwD certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS, etc), it should be between 50 kb to 300 kb and in PDF format.

Important Note:

Candidates are advised to maintain the highest level of integrity during the registration process. Any attempt to manipulate their scorecard, result, admission card, or the use or upload of someone else's photo, signature, or certificates will be treated as unfair means of practice (UFM) and may result in severe consequences.
