Only candidates who meet the category-specific JEE Main cut-off and rank within the top 2.50 lakh will be eligible to take the JEE Advanced 2026 exam.


Registration Process and Important Dates

Eligible candidates have a brief window of around 10 days to register for JEE Advanced 2026, with the entire process being conducted online. It is advisable for students to prepare their scanned documents in advance and complete their applications early to avoid any last-minute technical issues. Eligibility Criteria for JEE Advanced 2026

Who Can Apply?


Not every student who clears JEE Main can apply for JEE Advanced. Candidates must meet the following criteria:



  • JEE Main Rank: Must be among the top 2.50 lakh candidates in JEE Main 2026.

  • Age Limit: General category candidates should be born on or after October 1, 2001. A 5-year relaxation is available for SC/ST/PwD candidates (born on or after October 1, 1996).

  • Attempts: Candidates can attempt JEE Advanced a maximum of two times in consecutive years.

  • Class 12th Performance: Must have appeared for the Class 12 Board exam for the first time in 2025 or 2026.


Steps to Register for JEE Advanced 2026

How to Register:


1. Visit the official JEE Advanced website: jeeadv.ac.in.


2. Log in using your JEE Main 2026 Application Number and Password.


3. Your details (Name, Date of Birth, Category) will be fetched from the JEE Main database; please verify them carefully.


4. Choose your preferred examination cities (select three) and your examination medium (English or Hindi).


5. Upload scanned copies of your Class 10 certificate (for Date of Birth proof), Class 12 marksheet, and any applicable Category/Disability certificate.


6. Proceed to make the online payment for the registration fee:



  • ₹1,600 for female candidates and SC/ST/PwD candidates.

  • ₹3,200 for all other candidates.


7. Download and save the confirmation page for your records.
