JEE Advanced 2026 Overview



JEE Advanced 2026: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has announced the complete schedule for the JEE Advanced 2026 examination. The exam is set to take place on May 17, 2026, with two sessions on the same day: Paper 1 will run from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by Paper 2 from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. It is mandatory for candidates to take both papers; missing one will disqualify them from the merit list.


Registration Timeline

As per the schedule, registration for JEE Advanced 2026 will open on April 23 and close on May 2, 2026. For foreign candidates, the application process will commence on April 6. All applications will be processed through the official website, jeeadv.ac.in. Notably, this year, JEE Advanced scores will also be accepted for admission to the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, in addition to the IITs.


Eligibility Criteria

Who is eligible for JEE Advanced?


Only those candidates who rank within the top 250,000 in JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 can register for JEE Advanced. Candidates are allowed to attempt this exam a maximum of two times in consecutive years. They must have completed their Class 12 examinations in 2025 or 2026 with subjects including Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Additionally, individuals who have previously secured admission to an IIT are not eligible to apply.


Registration Fees

Fee Structure for JEE Advanced:



  • Female candidates of all categories: ₹1600

  • SC, ST, and PwD candidates: ₹1600

  • All other candidates: ₹3200

  • OCI/PIO candidates (India):


    • Female candidates (GEN and GEN-PwD): ₹1600

    • Open (GEN-PwD): ₹1600

    • Open (GEN): ₹3200


  • Foreign nationals and OCI/PIO (Foreign) candidates:


    • Candidates from SAARC countries: ₹100

    • Candidates from non-SAARC countries: ₹200



Exam Format

Exam Mode:


The JEE Advanced will be conducted exclusively in Computer-Based Test (CBT) format. Candidates are encouraged to utilize the mock tests available in the 'Resources' section of the official website, jeeadv.ac.in, to become familiar with the online testing format and question-solving techniques.


Admit Card Information

JEE Advanced Admit Card:


Admit cards for JEE Advanced will be accessible for download from May 11 to May 17, 2026. It is essential for candidates to present a printed version of their admit card along with a valid identification document at the examination center. Digital copies will not be accepted.
