Exam Date for JEE Advanced 2026: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has officially set the date for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2026. This prestigious national-level exam is crucial for securing Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) admissions in the 23 IITs across India. The examination is scheduled for May 17, 2026, and will be conducted in a computer-based format in various cities.


Exam Duration and Structure

Duration of the Exam:
As per the official timetable, the JEE Advanced exam will last for 6 hours, split into two mandatory papers. Paper 1 is set to take place from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by Paper 2 from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Candidates are required to take both papers to qualify. IIT Roorkee will soon provide a detailed schedule, a list of exam cities, and an information brochure on their official website jeeadv.ac.in. The examination will be available in both English and Hindi.


Eligibility Criteria for JEE Advanced 2026

Who Can Apply:
Only the top 250,000 candidates from the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) 2026 will be eligible to register for JEE Advanced 2026. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has already announced the dates for JEE Main 2026, with Session 1 scheduled from January 21 to 30, 2026, and Session 2 from April 1 to 10, 2026. This two-session format allows candidates multiple chances to enhance their scores before reaching the top 250,000 list.


Exam Mode and Language Options
