CUET UG 2026 Update

CUET UG 2026: A significant announcement has been made for students gearing up for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) 2026. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released an advisory for applicants whose forms have discrepancies related to their photographs. If you have submitted your CUET UG application, it is crucial to pay attention; even a small mistake could result in losing an entire academic year.

The NTA has observed that many students have uploaded photographs that are either unclear or do not meet the specified requirements. Therefore, students are being given a final chance to use the correction window to amend these issues. The correction period is set from April 7 to April 10, 2026, for those who have received notifications via email or SMS about photograph mismatches.

The CUET UG exams are planned to take place from May 11 to May 31, 2026.

Importance of a Correct Photograph:
As per the NTA, an AI-driven facial recognition system will be employed during the entrance exam. If the photograph submitted is unclear, outdated, or shows the candidate wearing glasses or a mask, it may lead to complications in verifying your identity at the exam center. In such cases, you might be prohibited from taking the exam.

To mitigate this risk, the NTA has started notifying students via email and SMS whose photographs have been flagged for discrepancies.
New Photograph Upload Guidelines

The NTA has established stringent guidelines for uploading photographs when completing the CUET UG application. These guidelines include:
- The background must be white.
- At least 80% of the face should be visible.
- Ears must be clearly visible, and candidates should not wear caps or headscarves.
- Only prescription glasses are allowed; there should be no glare or reflection on the lenses. Sunglasses or tinted glasses will lead to rejection.
- The photograph must be clear and taken recently.

Steps to Correct Your Photograph:
1. Go to the official website: exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG.
2. Log in using your Application Number and Password.
3. Click on the 'Correction Window' or 'Photo Correction' link.
4. Upload a new, clear photograph that meets the guidelines.
5. Save the changes and print the confirmation page for your records.
