Exciting Update for Haryana Board Students

Students enrolled in classes 10 and 12 under the Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE) have received encouraging news. This year, the HBSE will administer board examinations for both classes twice, aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP). The Board's initiative aims to give students a second chance to enhance their scores in the Class 10 and 12 board exams. This policy will be applicable to Secondary and Senior Secondary schools, as well as Gurukuls and Vidyapeeths, including the 'Purva Madhyama' (Secondary) and 'Uttar Madhyama' (Senior Secondary) levels.

Eligibility for Retaking Exams

Students who participated in the Haryana Board examinations during the February-March 2026 session and are unhappy with their results can apply for a retake. Applications must be submitted via the Board's official website, bseh.org.in. Students may retake exams in up to three subjects, excluding optional/additional subjects, with a fee of ₹1,000 per subject.

Second Phase Examination Schedule

**Expected Start Date: April 20**

Reports suggest that the second phase of the Haryana Board examinations is anticipated to start on April 20. The Board is also refining its evaluation process, with answer sheets from both sessions being assessed simultaneously. The evaluation is expected to conclude by the last week of April, with a tentative internal deadline set for around April 24. Results for both sessions are likely to be announced together, probably in the first week of May.

Who Will Benefit from the Second Chance?

**Final Scores Based on Best Performance**

Students opting to improve their scores by taking the second session will have their highest marks from both attempts counted as their final score. The Haryana Board emphasizes that this system aims to reduce exam-related stress and provide a fair chance for students to showcase their abilities. This initiative will also assist those who missed certain subjects in the main examination due to health issues, injuries, sports participation, NCC duties, or cultural activities. Such students can apply separately by submitting an offline form along with the required documents.

Ineligibility Criteria

**Who Cannot Retake the Exam?**

It is important to note that only students who appeared for at least one subject in the main examination are eligible for this opportunity. Those who were absent for all subjects during the first attempt will not be allowed to apply for the second attempt.
