Admission Process Commences



Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (IPU) has officially initiated its admission process for Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG), and PhD programs for the academic year 2026-27. The admission brochure was unveiled on Wednesday during a ceremony attended by the Education Minister of Delhi, Ashish Sood, and the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Verma. This marks the beginning of the admission process, which will introduce 24 new courses in the upcoming session. The online application process is set to commence on February 2nd.


New Courses Offered

IPU is expanding its academic offerings with a total of 230 courses, including the introduction of 24 new programs. The notable new courses include:



  • Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS)

  • Lateral Entry in BS (Packaging Technology)

  • MTech in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence

  • MA in Mass Communication (Weekend Program)

  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy

  • BTech in Industrial Chemistry

  • BSc in Clinical Psychology

  • BTech in Computer Science Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Data Science)

  • BTech in Computer Science and Business Systems

  • Teacher Education and Inclusive Education

  • BA BEd in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

  • BA BEd in Hearing Impairment (HI)

  • BA BEd in Intellectual Disability (ID)

  • BA BEd in Learning Disability (LD)

  • BA BEd in Multiple Disability (MD)

  • BA BEd in Visual Impairment (VI)


Seat Availability

The university has opened applications for a total of 43,000 seats across its 130+ affiliated colleges and campuses for UG, PG, and PhD programs. During the brochure launch, Delhi's Education Minister highlighted that IPU serves as a significant model of public education for the youth. The university's extensive offerings, including over 230 courses in diverse fields such as AI, robotics, data science, law, medicine, and design, reflect its ambitious vision. This year, nine new institutions have also been affiliated with IPU.


Application Process Details

Starting February 2nd, candidates can submit their applications for admission to IPU's UG, PG, and PhD courses online via the university's official website, ipu.ac.in. As in previous years, applicants will need to pay a one-time application fee of Rs. 2500, which covers both registration and counseling fees.


Admission Criteria

Admissions to IPU are determined based on scores from various entrance exams, including CET, JEE Main, NEET, CAT, CMAT, NIMCET, and CLAT. Additionally, some vacant seats in specific UG and PG courses will be filled through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Notably, IPU has opted to allocate remaining seats in its B.Tech program based on CUET scores.
