Union Budget: On Sunday, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will engage with around 30 college students from different regions of India after unveiling the Union Budget for 2026-27. This marks her ninth budget presentation, which will take place on February 1, including two interim budgets.


The Finance Ministry announced that this initiative allows students to experience the live presentation of the Union Budget from the Lok Sabha gallery, providing them a unique opportunity to witness a significant parliamentary event.


Students participating in this event hail from various states and represent a wide array of academic fields such as commerce, economics, medical studies, and vocational training.

They will also tour the Finance Ministry at Kartavya Bhavan-1, where they will interact with senior officials to gain insights into the ministry's operations, policy-making, and the role of institutions in national development.


In the evening, Sitharaman will hold a discussion with the students, focusing on the budget's key priorities, its vision for India's future, and its implications for the youth. The students will have the chance to express their thoughts, perspectives, and aspirations regarding youth and the nation.
