Important Notice for JEE Main 2026 Aspirants

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released a significant announcement for the numerous students gearing up for JEE Main 2026. Candidates who registered using an identity document other than their Aadhaar card are required to follow specific instructions. To address any identity-related issues, the NTA has implemented a verification process that must be completed within a designated timeframe. Failure to complete this verification promptly may lead to complications in subsequent procedures, making this information vital for all students.

Deadline for Identity Verification: January 15th

The NTA has noted that some candidates utilized identity documents apart from their Aadhaar card during the registration for JEE Main 2026. Additionally, there were instances where the live photo captured during the application did not align with the photo in the UIDAI records. Consequently, the agency has mandated that these candidates undergo identity verification.

Affected candidates are required to verify and upload their identity proof in PDF format by January 15, 2026. This process includes submitting a recent photograph certified by their school or college principal or headmaster, along with a signed and verified certificate. Completing this verification will officially confirm the candidate's identity.

Who Can Verify Your Identity?

In response to complaints regarding the unavailability of verification officers in certain areas, the NTA has adjusted its rules. Candidates can now have their identity verified by various officials, including a Tehsildar, Revenue Officer, SDM, DM, or a First Class Gazetted Officer. For NRI candidates, verification can be conducted by a First Class Gazetted Officer at the Indian Embassy.

JEE Main 2026 Examination Schedule

The JEE Main 2026 examination is set to commence on January 21st, with city-specific examination details expected to be released in the first week of January.
