Students are encouraged to arrive at their designated exam centers well ahead of time to facilitate a smooth biometric verification and frisking process. It is crucial to carry specific mandatory documents for entry into the examination venue.
JEE Advanced 2026 Overview
The JEE Advanced 2026, recognized as one of the most challenging engineering entrance exams in India, is scheduled for Sunday, May 17. This year's examination will be managed by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee at various centers across the country. Candidates must comply with regulations regarding admit cards, dress codes, and examination locations. The exam will be conducted in two sessions.
Exam Schedule
First Paper Timing
The first session will take place from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by the second session from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Candidates with disabilities will receive an extra hour to complete their exams. The test will be available in both Hindi and English, allowing students to switch languages as needed. The admit card includes vital information such as the candidate's name, roll number, photograph, signature, examination center address, reporting time, and key instructions. Candidates can download their admit cards from the official website, jeeadv.ac.in, until 2:30 PM on May 17.
Required Items for Exam Center Entry
To ensure a hassle-free entry, students should arrive early and bring essential documents. Candidates must have their admit card, one original photo ID, and two passport-sized photographs. They are also allowed to carry a pen, pencil, and a transparent water bottle.
Prohibited Items
The examination center has a strict ban on electronic devices and any suspicious items. Prohibited items include mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, earphones, microphones, health bands, calculators, electronic pens, pen drives, and scanners. Additionally, wallets, handbags, cameras, goggles, written notes, printed materials, writing pads, geometry boxes, scales, erasers, pencil cases, and any communication devices are not allowed inside the exam hall.
Dress Code Regulations
IIT Roorkee has established specific dress code guidelines for candidates. Students should avoid wearing jewelry or metal items to the examination center. This includes rings, chains, bracelets, pendants, earrings, nose pins, badges, and brooches. Clothing with large buttons is also not permitted. Candidates are advised to wear open footwear, such as slippers or sandals, and amulets or charms are prohibited inside the examination venue.
