Important Exam Details

New Delhi: The CBSE board examinations for 2026 are currently underway, with a significant Physics paper scheduled for students in the Science stream today, February 20. The exam will commence at 10:30 AM and conclude at 1:30 PM. Millions of students are finalizing their preparations, but there are strict regulations regarding entry into the exam hall that must be adhered to. Arriving on time and following the correct dress code are crucial.

Dress Code and Permitted Items

CBSE has clearly outlined the dress code and list of permitted items to prevent any inadvertent rule violations by students. Regular students are required to wear their school uniforms, while private candidates can opt for light clothing. The gates will close at 10 AM, and latecomers will not be allowed entry. These rules help ensure a fair examination process for all.

Uniform Requirements for Regular Students

Students taking the exam in regular mode must wear their complete school uniform, which includes the school badge, tie, and belt. This ensures easy identification and maintains discipline. Entry may be denied to those not in uniform. Girls should wear skirts or salwar-kameez as per school guidelines, while boys should be in pants and shirts.

Attire for Private Candidates

Private students have the flexibility to wear light and comfortable clothing. They should choose plain-colored t-shirts, shirts, or kurtas, along with simple pants or salwars. Avoid flashy designs, large buttons, or heavy fabrics. Half-sleeves are preferable for easier frisking. Girls can wear simple salwar-kameez or kurtas without fancy embellishments.

Items to Avoid

Students are prohibited from bringing jewelry, nose pins, rings, bracelets, chains, fancy watches, or smartwatches into the exam hall, as these are considered barred items and may be viewed as unfair means. Avoid using metal clips or accessories in hair. Footwear should be plain and lightweight; avoid heels or heavy shoes to prevent complications during frisking.

Entry Timing and Strict Regulations

The exam starts at 10:30 AM, but entry to the exam center is only allowed between 9 AM and 10 AM. If you arrive even a minute late, the gates will be closed, and entry will not be permitted. Therefore, aim to reach the center by at least 9 AM. To avoid delays due to traffic or other reasons, plan to leave an hour early. CBSE has made it clear that no exceptions will be granted.

Additional Tips for Exam Day

Ensure you carry your admit card, school ID (for regular students), or government ID (for private candidates). Keep pens, pencils, rulers, and erasers in a transparent pouch. You may bring an analog watch and a transparent water bottle. Leave mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, and earphones at home. Stay calm during frisking and follow the rules. Get a good night's sleep and maintain confidence.
