Central Education Minister's Statement on NEET UG Paper Leak


In light of the ongoing controversy surrounding the NEET UG paper leak, Central Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has made his first public statement today. He issued a stern warning against those involved in the leak, asserting that strict action will be taken against the accused. Additionally, he announced several important updates regarding the NEET examination.


While addressing the media, Pradhan confirmed that the examination will be rescheduled for June 21. He emphasized that stringent measures will be implemented against examination mafias. Furthermore, he urged students and parents to rely solely on updates provided by the NTA and to avoid information from other sources.


Key Announcements by the Education Minister

The Education Minister stated that the investigation has been promptly handed over to the CBI to ensure a swift resolution. He also provided details about the upcoming examination, mentioning that the admit cards for the re-exam will be issued by June 14. Students will receive an additional 15 minutes to complete the exam.


Moreover, he revealed that students will have the option to select their examination centers. This decision aims to alleviate travel burdens on students. In a significant announcement, he noted that starting next year, the NEET examination will transition to a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format, moving away from the traditional OMR sheets, which posed a higher risk of leaks.
