Scholarship Announcement: Students enrolled at Delhi University (DU) have received significant news as the university has initiated the application process for the Financial Support Scheme for the academic year 2025-26. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden on students, particularly those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, by waiving a portion of their fees.


Application Process and Eligibility

The Financial Support Scheme, which commenced in 2022, has opened its application window on September 10 for the upcoming academic year. Interested students can submit their applications through DU's official websites: du.ac.in and dsw.du.ac.in. This scheme is available to students from various programs, including those in the School of Open Learning (SOL) and Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB), as well as those pursuing graduation, post-graduation, BTech, and law, provided they meet the eligibility criteria.


Fee Waiver Details

Who is Eligible and What Fees are Waived?
Eligibility criteria dictate the extent of fee waivers. For instance, students whose parents earn an annual income of up to Rs 4 lakh will receive a full fee waiver, capped at Rs 15,000. Additionally, students with parental incomes up to Rs 8 lakh will benefit from a 50% fee waiver, limited to Rs 10,000.

To apply for the Financial Support Scheme, students must provide the following documents:



  • EWS/OBC-NCL certificate or an annual family income certificate issued after March 31, 2025

  • PAN cards for all family members

  • Certificate from the head or director of the department or college

  • Marksheet from the last completed examination

  • Latest fee receipt

  • Bank passbook (showing the student's name, account number, and IFSC) or a cancelled cheque
